Saturday April 11th is Mentored Youth Fishing Day throughout Pennsylvania and to celebrate The Waymart Church will be hosting a Youth Trout Fishing Event! We have all kinds of fishing gear and gift certificates to giveaway so make sure you don't miss this fun opportunity! Coffee, hot chocolate, and doughnuts will be provided for the morning and hot dogs for lunch as well!

We will meet at 7:45am at Van Auken Creek located behind Cavage's Farm Market which is located at 1203 Roosevelt Highway, Waymart - This event will end at noon.

PA LAW Requires that every youth must be accompanied by an adult with a PA Fishing License.

ADULT ANGLERS

To participate in the Mentored Youth Fishing Day, anglers 16 years of age or older (adult anglers) must possess a valid Pennsylvania Fishing License and a current Trout/Salmon Permit, and be accompanied by a youth (less than 16 years of age) who has obtained a Mentored Youth Fishing Permit or Voluntary Youth Fishing License from the Commission. While mentors will be permitted to fish for trout, they are not permitted to harvest trout and must release them unharmed.

 

YOUTH ANGLERS

Youth anglers must obtain a Mentored Youth Fishing Permit or Voluntary Youth Fishing License from the Commission and be accompanied by an adult licensed angler in order to participate. Youth may harvest up to two trout (combined species) with a minimum size of 7 inches. All other Commonwealth Inland Water regulations apply.
